International Adventure

BSC student, Samantha Pretty, jets off to China today, to compete for Pony Club Australia’s China Exchange. Nominated by fellow Ballarat Pony Club members, Sam was shortlisted from twenty applicants in the country, to make the top four. However, after New Zealand pulled out, a further two places became available, allowing Australia to send six applicants instead of four. 

Pleased to be representing Victoria and her country, Sam started riding from a young age, joining Ballarat Pony Club in 2019. Chosen due to her excellent competition results and for her contribution to her club, Sam feels incredibly proud to be selected and has been eagerly awaiting the amazing adventure.

During their two and a half weeks spent in China, the team will be billeted with Chinese families and, when not competing, the group’s schedule will be packed full of cultural experiences and other exciting opportunities.
