From the Head of Sport

Head of Sport Report
Last weekend the 13 boys Basketball team put up a valiant effort in their semi-final against SACS, falling short of a win by just four points in a tightly contested game. Every player contributed to a strong team performance, showing great determination and teamwork throughout. The support from the sidelines was fantastic and much appreciated by the team.
Looking ahead to this weekend, we have three teams competing in grand finals: the Open C Girls, Junior C Girls, and First V Boys. Please note that there has been a venue change and the games will be held at Barker College.
Best of luck to all players—let’s finish the season on a high note!
Congratulations
Maiya Edwards (Year 9) proudly represented BMGS at the prestigious School Girls Head of the River rowing event last Saturday. Competing in the Year 9 single scull category, Maiya demonstrated exceptional skill, determination, and endurance on the water. Her hard work and dedication paid off as she secured an impressive 3rd place finish against a strong field of rowers. This great result is a testament to her commitment to the sport and her ability to perform under pressure. Congratulations to Maiya on this fantastic result!
ISA Swimming
All information has been sent out for those who have been selected in the BMGS swimming team. Please ensure that you have a BMGS swimming cap on the day. These are required to compete.
If you are a competitive swimmer and have NSW swim times, please check the swimming page for additional entries for the NSWCIS carnival. Your times will need to be submitted to me by Friday 5:00pm.
Winter Sport
Winter sport trials are now in full swing, and it has been good to see students getting involved. Players are reminded to come prepared with the necessary gear, especially mouthguards and shin guards, and a positive attitude.
If you have any questions or concerns about trials, please see your MIC for clarification. We look forward to an exciting season ahead for all our winter sports and encourage everyone to make the most of these opportunities to develop their skills in a team situation.
Those selected for winter tennis will be notified next week.
