STUDENT VOICE

At Green Valley Public School, we believe every student’s voice is important! Through programs like the Children’s Parliament and the Student Representative Council (SRC), our students can share their ideas and work together on important school matters, helping them feel empowered both at school and in our community. These initiatives provide a chance for our students to express themselves and build a strong sense of belonging.
The 2168 Children's Parliament
The 2025 Parliamentarians are: Evangeli Morgan, Suri Huynh, Rachel Yang and Dylan Le.
This year, the 2168 Children's Parliament is excited to focus on supporting PSSA Gala Days in our schools! They have been hard at work preparing persuasive speeches to present to the Mayor and council ambassadors at their next parliament session in June. They believe that sport plays a vital role in bringing people together, supporting teamwork, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. They've been discussing important ways Liverpool Council can help make PSSA Gala Days more affordable and ensure our play areas are sun safe for everyone.
Their goal is to strengthen community connections and ensure every student in the area has the chance to participate in sport in a safe and inclusive environment. We wish them all the best when presenting their final speeches to council.
News from the SRC
The School Representative Council (SRC) has officially begun their work representing the voices of students at Green Valley! One of our first tasks this term was to nominate a charity for the school to support in 2025. Each SRC member presented a charity they felt passionate about, and after careful consideration and a student vote, we are proud to announce that Miracle Babies has been chosen. Miracle Babies is an Australian organisation that supports families of premature and sick newborns. We are currently planning fundraising events to support this cause and will begin collecting donations in classroom containers from Week 3.
In addition to our charity work, the SRC, along with school leaders and house captains, have been discussing the current student 'Positive Behaviour' awards system. We’ve shared our ideas and suggestions for how it might be improved and look forward to presenting these to the school community.
Each week, we also explore discussion topics to help us think about how we can make our school an even better place for everyone. We are also developing our leadership skills with Mrs Keegan, where we are learning to work as a team, communicate effectively, make decisions, lead with confidence, and learn what it means to be an effective school leader.
We’re really proud to be part of the SRC and excited to help make Green Valley an even better place for everyone. We can’t wait to share more ideas and make a positive difference together!
