In Year 5, students have been hard at work creating engaging multimodal texts inspired by the book "Bright New World." Through collaborative research and planning, they brought their creative ideas to life, incorporating various forms of media and expression. Students included informative, persuasive and entertaining elements to their texts.
Stage 3 students have been diving into the fascinating world of biomes in their geography lessons, exploring diverse environments such as deserts, rainforests, aquatic areas, and grasslands. In small groups, they collaborated to create informative posters that highlight what a biome is—a natural area teeming with unique plants and animals—and how our world is divided into various biomes.
Stage 3 students have been actively engaged in their visual arts unit titled "Making Music." Throughout this creative journey, they explored the sounds and structures of the guitar and violin, allowing music to inspire their artistic expression. Students have crafted stunning abstract artworks and have also been inspired from Vincent Van Gogh's iconic painting, "Starry Night".
Check out our impressive Sustainable Fishing infographics created by students during the science unit "Food and Fibre". Throughout this engaging project, students have learned the importance of responsible fishing practices and the impact of sustainable methods on our environment.
Last Thursday, our students had the opportunity to participate in the Inquisitive Minds Workshop. Working in pairs, they practised their skills, enhancing teamwork and critical thinking. The highlight of the workshop was a fun, fast-paced challenge that had everyone engaged and excited. It’s safe to say the kids had a blast—talk about a sum of fun! We can't wait to see how these skills will help them tackle future maths challenges!
