STAGE 1
1RA, 1SB, 1/2D, 2B, 2PO
We have had a very busy start to the year already! Our teachers and students have been working extremely hard with their learning. We are proud of their achievements so far and want to give you a little peek into what has been happening in Stage 1. As we begin Term 2, we have many exciting events coming up! Our Stage 1 Excursion to IMAX Sydney, Parent Teacher Interviews, Athletics Carnival, K-2 Assemblies and more. We hope we can see you at some of these events.
In Stage 1, we have been busy learning new letter sounds and using this to help us to read and write unfamiliar words. Our writing has improved so much! We have begun to increase the amount we write, and improve the quality of our sentences with adjectives and prepositions. Stage 1 have been so lucky to read a range of quality literature each week. We've included some pictures of the books we've been reading in class with our amazing writing.
Have a look at what 2B & 1/2D are doing in their classrooms when learning about mathematics. They have been using pattern blocks and counters to show symmetry and increasing patterns. Students are investigating symmetrical patterns and shapes, and developing their understanding of symmetry in the environment and everyday objects.
Stage 1 students explored sea animals and creatures in our visual arts unit. We participated in directed drawing, painting, printmaking and craft to create amazing pieces of artwork. Have a look down below at what we ended up making!
At the end of Term 1, we had our first ever Fancy Hat Parade! Stage 1 had the best time parading around with their class, showing off their creative and brilliant hats. They were all very well behaved and even got to meet the Easter Bunny. What an amazing way to end Term 1!
