Gareth Hose & Kate Gardner, Year 8 Coordinators

HAWK AWARD

What is it?

Our Yr 8 HAWK award is an award that acknowledges and celebrates one of our students who has consistently exemplified the college values of care, character, collaboration and commitment. This is awarded at every one of our assemblies

We congratulate Skye Johnstone from 8A who is our first winner of this award!

SRC NOMINATIONS

The student representative council is currently seeking nominations for students to join. We encourage Yr 8 students to put their hand up and be a part of the student voice within the College. This is a great opportunity for students to have a voice and develop their leadership skills.

INTERIM REPORTS

Students are busy working through a range of classroom curriculum activities and assessment tasks. Teachers have started the process of completed term interim reports which gives students/families a snap shot of their progress. These reports will also be discussed in the up coming Parent Teacher interviews.

REMINDERS

We remind students that Phones need to be kept in their lockers and locks need to be on their lockers to keep their items safe and in order.

ABSENCES

We want to see all students at school as much as practical, so if your child is away, please let us know by logging it on SEQTA or calling the absence hotline on 5381 7200. This includes arriving late to school. If your child is away for reasons other than illness, please feel free to call the Year 8 Office on 5381 7108 or contact their Form Group teacher via SEQTA Direqt Message so we can support their attendance where required.

BODY DETECTIVE

Our Year 8 Body Detective students have been diving deep into the fascinating world of human body systems! As part of their studies, they had the opportunity to observe a ‘pluck’ dissection led by their teacher. This allowed them to examine real lungs, liver, and hearts to see how these organs function together.
