P&C Funded Immersive Space project is moving forward

Sometimes good things take longer to make progress than anyone first thought, and this is definitely one of those cases.  Many of you would have heard talk about a new nature themed play area for the children over the past couple of years, and even more of you have helped by buying things from the canteen or uniform shop or by participating in direct fundraising activities we have organised. Well the good news is that after a lot of back and forth, all the relevant parties have agreed and I'm told the project is now definitely happening. At this stage it looks like the children will have an exciting new play space next to the current playground on the oval for the second half of this year.

In coming newsletters I will share with you various pieces of equipment that have been ordered and will be going in. The pictures will be directionally correct, but subject to change. When the students voted last year on what they most wanted to see, the Mud Kitchen came out on top.  But don't let the name fool you, as we don't plan to have troughs or trays where water can be retained, as it is more of a work bench to encourage creative play.

I also want to call out a few individuals at the school who have played a role in getting this project to where it is today. I'll call out one person per newsletter, and the first one is Dounia L. It was a conversation I was having with her a few years ago about the children needing more varied ways to play on their breaks that started this project, and she was also the one that applied for a $30,000 state government grant that the P&C successfully received and which helped us expand the project to make it even better.  So many people have played a role, and more names to come later in the lead up to this exciting project actually being constructed.
