Mobile Phones - Social Media
Some of the great aspects of our community is that it is small, close knit and when times of hardship and tragedy hit the community is there for you. This often means that our students who go to school together also play together on the weekend which helps build and strengthen friendships. Unfortunately, this can mean that when a conflict starts on the weekend, the problem can work its way into school on Monday. When we investigate we find that the problem often starts when using a mobile phone and on social media. As we dig a little deeper we find that it is also often late at night when the student has taken their phone with them to bed. This habit is so detrimental to your child health, lack of sleep being the main one.
Can I ask all parents / carers to:
- Have a curfew around 7.30pm on technology and social media.
- Do not allow your child/children to take their phones, laptops, ipads, etc with them to bed
- Be aware of the social media providers that your child/children are active on.
- Monitor chat groups that your child/children are in.
Whole School Assembly - Tuesday 1st April
Our final whole school assembly for Term 1 is on Tuesday 1st April – 12.10pm. Once again everyone is invited! It will be held at Donaldson Park Complex.
School Buses
Over half of our students are bused to school using five buses. This makes for a busy time enabling buses to depart on time at the end of the day. It would be helpful to assist this process by notifying the front office when your child/children are absent or not travelling home on the bus. Thank you.
