What a treat we had this week!

We are very grateful for Dean Curtis who came in to share with us about brass instruments. We are moving through the instrument families and trying our best to place their different timbres, so it was wonderful for the children to see and hear all the brass instruments, both the big and the small, from a cornet to a tuba!

We learnt a little about the science of instruments. They need something that vibrates, a pitch adjuster and an amplifier. 

Our older students were even given an opportunity to play! What a great chance to try something new and experience the timbre of different instruments. 

I was very proud of our students. Their engagement during the incursion was outstanding and the respectful listening I saw from all classes was a credit to our school.
