District and Western Sport Trials
In 2025, Mrs Francis will coordinate all district and western trial information for PSSA Sporting teams.
Some trials at a school level will be held prior to the district trials. This depends on the sport and popularity of trials at the district level.
When trialling for district and western teams, notes will go home with students from school and will need to be returned to school to Mrs Francis before the due date.
Students cannot attend trials without this note being approved by the school and students names entered into trials by the school.
Students can find out about upcoming school, district and western trials by listening to Sentral announcements in class, and parents can find out about trials by keeping up to date through the School Newsletter.
Upcoming school and district trial information
Girls Basketball: Trials for girls interested in playing for the school basketball team were held this week. Unfortunately, there was not enough interest from girls in Year 5 and 6, and we were unable to make a team. Trials will reopen next week (Week 8) to girls in Years 4, 5 and 6, with the aim of ensuring we have enough players to make a team (with subs). Interested girls should attend on Tuesday 18th March during Break 2 and listen for Sentral announcements in their class during the morning session. If enough girls are not interested and we are unable to form a team, we will make a decision after week 8 as to whether we withdraw from the PSSA Knockout Competition in 2025.
Boys Basketball: Thankyou to all children who attended. A squad of 12 has been selected to trial for the final team. These children are asked to come to the second trial on Tuesday 18th March during Break 2.

Upcoming Western Trial information
Rugby 7's : Girls- Trials for the Western Region Rugby 7's team will be held on 21st March in Wellington. Notes will be handed out this week for girls interested. Don't forget to return to the office by the due date.
Hockey: Boys and girls interested in trialling for the Western Region Hockey Team can collect notes from Mrs Francis in Week 8. Trials will be held in Bathurst on Wednesday 26th March from 9.30am - 2.00pm.
Netball: Boys interested in trialling for the Boys Western Plains Netball Team (combined private/public team can collect notes from Mrs Francis in Week 8. Trials will be held in Orange on 21st May.
Students will be notified of this information in the mornings, when teachers make Sentral announcements.

Our next training session will be held on Tuesday 18th March during Break 1.
The Touch Football Gala day is scheduled for Friday 28th March. Permission notes for the Gala Day have been sent out through the Parent Portal.
Cricket Team
We are currently preparing for our 2nd round of the PSSA Knockout Competition. Our next game will be held on Tuesday 25th March against Bathurst South PS.
Our next training session will be held on Wednesday 19th March during Break 1.
