Reconciliation Reflection Day

The Year 4 students from our school gathered together with our two parish schools for a Reflection Day on Reconciliation. The day focused on deepening their understanding of the sacrament through four rotational activities.

Students reflected on the Scripture of the Prodigal Son, exploring themes of forgiveness and redemption. They also learned about the four steps of Reconciliation and how these steps guide them in their spiritual journey. In addition, students created booklets on making choices and participated in artwork activities that helped express their reflections. It was a meaningful day of shared learning, prayer, and spiritual growth.

Some of our Year 4 students celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation, marking an important milestone in their spiritual journey. In preparation for this special occasion, the students had been reflecting on their actions, seeking forgiveness, and renewing their commitment to living with kindness and love. Teachers guided them through lessons focusing on spiritual growth and the steps involved in the sacrament.

During the ceremony, students confessed their sins to a priest and received absolution, experiencing God’s mercy and grace. For many, this was their first time participating in the sacrament, making it a deeply meaningful moment in their faith development.

As the students prepared for this special occasion, we asked the school community to keep them in their thoughts and prayers. This celebration serves as a reminder for all of us to reflect on our actions and the importance of forgiveness in our lives. May this experience inspire and bless our Year 4 students as they continue to grow in their faith.

3/4 GALA DAY

Year 3/4 Gala Day: Fun, Respect, and Sportsmanship

The Year 3/4 students took part in their first Gala Day of the year and for Year 3 their first ever, enjoying a day full of tennis, Newcombe ball, frisbee, and cricket. The event was a celebration of fun, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Students enthusiastically participated in each activity, showing a great sense of enjoyment and excitement. Thankyou to the Year 5/6 sports captains for assisting and supporting the students and staff on the day.

The day’s goals were clear: to have fun, be respectful, and demonstrate good sportsmanship. The students achieved all three. They cheered each other on, respected the rules, and congratulated opponents on their successes. Whether winning or losing, the students displayed kindness and encouragement, creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

The event was a fantastic success, providing the Year 3/4 students with not only new skills in sports but also valuable lessons in teamwork and character. It was a day full of smiles and laughter, leaving everyone excited for future Gala Days to come!
