Annual Secondary Athletics Carnival

This week, Jack Eddy Oval was buzzing with energy as our Secondary students proudly showcased their athletic talents across a full day of competition. From javelin, long jump, shot put and high jump to discus and beyond, every event showcased determination, skill and sportsmanship.

The carnival was a true celebration of house spirit, resilience and community connection. Congratulations to Chanter House for taking out the overall win.

These moments go beyond competition, building confidence, camaraderie and a strong sense of belonging within our school community.  We also sincerely thank the families and staff whose encouragement and support helped make the day such a success.

Strong Showing at ICCES/BAS Golf Tournament

Moama Anglican Grammar proudly congratulates three of our students who represented the school at the ICCES (Independent Country Co-Education Schools) /BAS Golf Tournament, held at the Midlands Golf Course in Ballarat.

Competing in a stroke event alongside students from a wide range of schools, Oscar Marshall, Cooper Hunter and Xavier Phillips each teed off in mixed groups and rose to the challenge of an unfamiliar course. The layout presented several difficult holes, with water hazards testing accuracy and composure throughout the round.

Despite these challenges, all three students competed confidently and demonstrated perseverance, skill and sportsmanship across the day. Most importantly, Oscar, Cooper and Xavier represented our School with the highest level of integrity, reflecting the school’s values both on and off the course.

We congratulate the boys on their efforts and thank them for representing MAG so well at this interschool sporting event.

It was an early start, with the group leaving school at 4:30am, but everyone was excited for the day ahead. Throughout the competition, each student trialled individually for a place in the RAS Netball team. All students put in their best effort, which was something to be very proud of.

We are excited to share that Sophie Frazer, Evie Williams, Denny Moon, Halle Moon, and Elsie Stevens were selected for the RAS team, with Mea Whitelegg selected as an emergency.

In May, the team will travel to Sydney to compete against other teams from across NSW.

Charlotte completed 3 clear jumping rounds with her horse, Prince. She finished 2nd in the 70cm open jump and 2nd in the Interschools 80cm jump. These were her first attempts at these heights. Charlotte was supported by Miss Briggs on the day and showed some great things in the lead-up to the Victorian Interschools Championships, hosted at Boneo Park during the holidays.

Good luck to the four riders representing MAG at the upcoming Victorian Championships: Zara O'Donnell, Wynter Whipp, Ginger Whipp, and Charlotte Harris.
