Expanding Normanby Road Reserve - Consultation summary available

The Expanding Normanby Road Reserve consultation summary is now available.

The first phase of community consultation took place from 2 December 2025 to 8 February 2026.

Key insights that emerged from community feedback were:

  • Community feedback indicated strong support for expanding Normanby Road Reserve to improve the open space amenity, accessibility and community use within this area of Southbank.
  • Community feedback indicated support for potential changes to Normanby Road to create more open space, but responses suggested that traffic and transport impacts would need to be considered.

Find out more about what we heard on the community consultation page.

The feedback we received will be used to inform a draft project vision and concept plan for expanding Normanby Road Reserve.

Find a cheaper electricity bill with City of Melbourne

Switching energy plans is the quickest way for most people to save on their energy bills. It takes just a few minutes to compare your energy plan and switch to a better value or greener offer. Our new tool can also help residents reduce your energy consumption. If they'd prefer more support, you can book a free virtual consultation with an energy advisor.

All advice is free, independent, and funded by the City of Melbourne. The program is available for apartments, houses, and small businesses, and is suitable for both owners and renters.

Residents living in embedded networks face other barriers, so they're not able to switch their plan, but this service can still assist by providing free consultation with an energy advisor on ways to make their homes more comfortable, healthy, and cheaper to run.

Access the online tool here to compare your energy plan today!
