Reminders:

Homework expectations

• Mathseeds: 1 lesson per week

Year 1

• Diaries: Please ensure diaries are brought to school every day. 

Toys

A friendly reminder that toys (e.g., dolls, fidgets, action figures, sticker books, colouring books and other personal items) are not to be brought to school, in line with school guidelines. This ensures none are lost or damaged. Thank you for your cooperation and support. 

PE Days

A reminder that PE days have changed for some classes this term. Students should wear their PE uniform and running shoes on their PE day.

Year 2

Twisted Ed Excursion Reminder

Our Year 2 students will be attending an exciting excursion to Twisted Ed on Wednesday 29 July.

Please ensure your child arrives at school by 8:45am, as buses will depart promptly at 9:00am, and that they bring their schoolbag, iPad, diary, lunchbox and drink bottle.

To make carrying lunch easier during the excursion, please pack your child's snack and lunch in one container, or place multiple containers together inside one lunch bag.

To ensure your child can attend, please make sure that:

• Consent has been provided via Compass
• All excursion payments have been completed

Library

Due to timetable changes for Term 3, our library borrowing days have changed.

• 2B: Monday
• 2A, 2C & 2D: Wednesday

Please ensure your child brings their library bag each week so they can return and borrow books.

Year 3

Homework Expectations

Students are expected to achieve between 200-1000 points on Mathletics each week. It is recommended for this to be completed by Wednesday. 

In addition to this, students are expected to complete 20 minutes of independent reading. Each entry must be signed. Students are to bring their diaries every day and place them on their name tags. Their diaries will be checked on a Monday morning.

In-Visits and Excursion Consent

It would be greatly appreciated if consent could be given as soon as possible for Legoland, Ultimate Frisbee Gala Day, Soccer Gala Day and Pyrography events. Consent for all excursions and in-visits can be accessed on Compass. If you need any support with consent, please see you child's teacher.  

Year 4

• Friday 28 August: Year 3/4 District Ultimate Frisbee Gala Day

Homework Expectations

Students are expected to achieve between 200-1000 points on Mathletics each week. It is recommended for this to be completed on a Monday or Tuesday.

In addition to this, students are expected to complete 30 minutes of independent reading. Each entry must be signed. Students are to bring their diaries every day and place them on their name tags. Teachers will monitor diaries daily and check for 4+ days recorded and signed on a Friday morning. 

Library

All classes will now visit the library on a Tuesday. Please ensure your child brings their book bag each week to allow the opportunity to borrow. Books can be kept for up to two weeks if they need longer to finish reading. 

Accelerated Reader

All Year 4 students now have their reading range and points targets for Term 3. By the end of Week 3, we are aiming for all students to be at 30% of their points target. We are pleased to see students making a strong start with their reading and quiz taking routines this term!

Charged laptops

Please support your child to bring a fully charged device to school each day. This ensures they are remaining on track with important learning activities. 

Year 5

Volunteers Needed

If you would like to volunteer to support the Year 5 students on their excursion to the Immigration Museum, please email your child's class teacher. 

Reading Targets

Students have conferenced with their teacher and collaborated on selecting a challenging but achievable reading volume target for Term 3. Please support your child by asking them how they are tracking. They can show you their progress on the Accelerated Reader website. 

Homework Diary

Students are expected to present their diary each day with the previous night's reading homework recorded.

Year 6

Dates to Remember:

• Tuesday 28 July: Scienceworks Excursion
• Tuesday 1 September: IMAX and Melbourne Museum Excursion

Reminders:

Accelerated Reader: All Year 6 students recently completed the STAR Reading Assessment and have now been given their new reading range and points target goal for Term 3. Please support your child in working towards their target by ensuring they are reading for 30 minutes each night and recording their reading in their diary. It is important that students arrive at school by 8:45AM each morning in order to use the first 15 minutes of the morning to take their AR quizzes, which will help them work towards their target.

PE Days: A reminder that PE days have changed for some classes this term. Students should wear their PE uniform and running shoes on their PE day. PE days for the remainder of the year are:
