Hills Public Speaking Competition
Last term, Roselea Public School had four students represent us at the Hills Public Speaking Competition. From Stage 2, we had Kate V from 3S and Kirin C from 4J. From Stage 3, Chloe H from 5C and Ronika M from 6L participated.
These students performed exceptionally well, with Kirin taking home 1st place, while Kate and Chloe received highly commended awards, and Ronika was named a district finalist. All of them spoke brilliantly and made us incredibly proud.
Debating Snapshot
Our Year 5 debate team has achieved outstanding success recently. First, they won a tense tie-breaker against Epping North on the topic 'That technology makes our lives worse, not better,' where Roselea argued as the negative team. They followed this up with a well-earned victory in the semi-final against North Rocks on the topic 'All students should learn a second language,' again as the negative team. So far, Roselea has competed against Epping Public, Epping West, Epping North, Ngarala PS, and North Rocks—twice! The students’ teamwork, preparation, and commitment have truly paid off. They are now gearing up for the grand final, which will take place on Monday night in Week 3 at Boronia Grove Community Centre. We are so proud of their efforts, and wish them the best of luck as they prepare for this final challenge!
