Principal's Message

Mrs Belinda Hall - Relieving Principal

Welcome back for an exciting Term 4. It was fantastic to end last term with our Night of Stars CAPA evening. The performances were amazing and highlighted the phenomenal talent we have at our school in both the students and teaching staff. We also had a very fitting and heartfelt send off for Mr Jones, celebrating the positive impact he had on the school and community. We know that Chatswood will thrive under his leadership and wish him well as he learns so many new names.

Term 4 events

This term has already started off with some exciting events, with many more scheduled throughout the term. The Year 5 debating team led by Ms Fairgrieve are celebrating yet another win and are busy preparing for the grand final in a couple of weeks. We congratulate them on their hard work throughout the competition and wish them well in their next debate.

On 19 November, our school will be hosting Kids Xpress. From 6-8pm, you will have the opportunity to learn from an expert in mental health on understanding and supporting children’s big emotions. It is a practical, hands-on workshop where you can gain an understanding of where big emotions come from, discover the impact this has on education and learn techniques to support anxiety. We have secured a grant, so there will be no cost to the event.  Simply use the QR code or email to secure your spot.

2025 planning

As we rapidly near the end of this year, we start to plan for next year. All NSW Public Schools are staffed through enrolment numbers and associated formulae. Therefore, in order to plan appropriately for the 2025 school year, we need to know as accurately as possible our anticipated student numbers for next year.

If your child is leaving Roselea Public School at the end of 2024 and will not be returning next year, please let the school know by sending the office an email. roselea-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au

Likewise, if your child will be on leave at the start of 2025, we ask you to email the office with details of their intended date to return to Roselea.

To assist with class planning for 2025, all students over the next few weeks will fill in a form in class. In this form they will be asked to identify 4 friends that they would like to be in their class next year. When making classes for next year, we will look at this list and ensure that at least one of the four friends is in the same class as your child. There are a variety of other factors that we take into consideration when forming classes, however, by ensuring that everyone has at least one friend, we hope that all students will make a smooth start to 2025.

We are lucky to have a fantastic staff at Roselea and your child we be supported in any class that they are placed. It is for this reason that we will not be accepting teacher requests.
