Starting Year 12 means that all our years of schooling are beginning to come to an end and everything now counts. Year 12 has given us further freedoms, such as dropping a subject or potentially picking up extra units. It's a strange feeling moving towards the end of our schooling and having to know what we want the rest of our lives to look like when we’ve only really experienced school and the security it has provided. However, despite the bittersweet feeling behind our transition from Year 11 to Year 12, it's exciting to know that we’re almost done and soon can progress into the adult stages of our lives.
Personally, I'm excited for the freedom and possibility graduating in a year’s time will bring and the prospect of starting university. Currently Year 12 has brought out about a much higher workload and pressure, especially considering everything now counts towards our ATAR. However, the flexibility that comes with becoming older, such as being able to drive and going away with friends, exceeds the pressures behind the academic element of the year. Personally I’m looking forward to the opportunities that will come along with being a Year 12 student and the anticipation that comes along with it.
