New College Student Leadership Team

On Wednesday, 30 October the new student leadership group met at Elouera Surf Club for a day of leadership training and engagement. The day began with some group bonding and games with the help of our enthusiastic Youth Minister Evan. We then delved into what makes a good leader and the qualities of good leadership teams. The group explored the roles of the group and planned their first initiative for next week. The day finished with some practical planning and sharing of ideas for the future. It was a most enjoyable day and Mr Robertson and I were very impressed with the ideas and energy of the group and we look forward to everything they will achieve in 2025.

Early Career Teachers Meeting

This week our College hosted over 30 beginning teachers for the conclusion of a year long project and mentoring program run across 8 primary and secondary schools in the Sutherland Shire. The first year teachers were broken into groups focusing on different areas of education and the teaching profession from classroom diversity to challenging conversations. Our own Miss Wade and Mr Chivers were part of this cohort and distinguished themselves throughout the course this year. We wish them and all of the other beginning teachers the best of luck for the future.

Year 7 Orientation Day

Next Wednesday, 6 November the College will host 90 Year 6 students who will form our Year 7 grade in 2025. The day begins at 8:30am in the College hall for a short talk and some introductions for the students and any parents who wish to stay. The students will undertake some testing in both Mathematics and English before enjoying some time bonding together over pastoral activities and sports games, with a BBQ lunch. The day will conclude at 2:30pm and we look forward to meeting our newest students and making them feel welcome.
