A Heartfelt Farewell to Leisel Ward

For the past 18 years, Leisel has been the heart and soul of our school community, serving in various roles including teacher, Assistant Principal, and Acting Principal. Cheltenham East Primary School has not only been her workplace but also a cherished part of her life, as it is where both of her sons received their education, making her connection to our school even more profound.

Leisel’s contributions to our school are truly extraordinary and cannot be fully captured in a single letter. As a teacher, she had a profound impact on the children she taught, with Foundation being her happy place. Her passion for early childhood education shone through in her engaging teaching style, nurturing a love for learning in her students. The children under her care and guidance thrived not just academically but also socially and emotionally.

Transitioning into her roles as Assistant Principal and Acting Principal, Leisel’s influence extended even further. Her expertise and deep understanding of best educational practices led to numerous positive changes that have improved both academic and wellbeing outcomes for all students. She has been instrumental in implementing programs that support student growth, ensuring that every child feels valued and supported in their learning journey. Her dedication to our school community has inspired both staff and students alike, creating a legacy that will endure long after her departure.

As we say goodbye, we reflect on the countless lives Leisel has touched and the indelible mark she has left on our school. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering commitment to our students and staff have made our school a better place.
