VCE results are released on 12 December 2024 at 7am. During that day, the Careers team will be available for anyone who would like to chat about changing preferences, alternate pathways, accepting potential offers, or any other concerns about your future plans.
We will provide a morning tea for anyone who would like to come in at 11am in the senior school common room. Remember that you have a very small window of 48 hours to change your preferences once results have been released. So close now, you’re almost there!!

The Importance of Year 11 Career Interviews
As our Year 11 students prepare for their transitions, we want to emphasise the value of the career interviews offered at this stage. These one-on-one sessions are an excellent opportunity for students to discuss their interests, strengths, and potential career paths with our dedicated careers advisors. By identifying goals and exploring different pathways, students can make informed decisions about their final year and beyond. We strongly encourage all Year 11 students to take advantage of these interviews during Term 4, and start planning for their futures. Interviews can be booked directly through Student Resources on SIMON by clicking on the links provided. Well done to those of you who have already made appointments, it was great to see such positivity and interest from you all in exploring the many pathways that are available to you. We’re looking forward to meeting with you over the next few weeks so remember to book your appointment soon!
Exciting Careers Event for Year 9s
Looking ahead, we are thrilled to announce our Speed Careers event on Thursday 7 November 2024 specifically designed for our Year 9 students. Students will have the chance to meet with representatives from different industries, learn about the skills and qualifications needed for various careers, and gain insights into the job market. This interactive experience will not only inform but inspire our Year 9s as they start to consider their future career pathways and is both a fun and informative interaction with members of our local community.
Encouraging Exploration and Growth
At Mary MacKillop College, we understand that choosing a career path can be overwhelming. That’s why we strive to provide a supportive environment where students can explore their interests and aspirations. Whether through workshops or hands-on experiences including work experience and structured workplace learning placements, we are dedicated to helping our students discover their passions and prepare for their futures. For anyone who hasn’t yet visited the College Careers website https://www.mmcrccareers.com/, we strongly encourage you to do so.
As our Year 12s finalise their preparations and our younger students begin to look ahead, we want to reinforce the importance of seeking guidance and staying informed. Career pathways can take many forms, and our team is here to support each student in finding the path that suits them best.
In conclusion, we wish all our Year 12 students the best of luck in their upcoming exams and future endeavours. For Year 11s, take advantage of the career interviews to chart your course, and Year 9s, mark your calendars for the exciting Speed Careers event on Thursday 7 November. Together, we are building a foundation for success, ensuring that every student at Mary MacKillop College is empowered to reach their full potential. Let's embrace the journey ahead!
