Engaging in our Faith

All Saints Day

On November 1, our school community gathered for a Mass to celebrate All Saints Day. It was a beautiful occasion to honour and reflect on the lives of saints deceased and saints still living. We were reminded by Fr Colin that we are all part of "The Communion of Saints" according to our faith, so we paid particular attention to those who role model saintly behaviour in our community:- Mrs Thomas at the front office and Olivia Tam, Noah's Mum, who is coordinating the Yearbook for us. Thank you to those living saints!

As part of the celebration, students had the opportunity to dress as their favourite saint, bringing to life the many inspiring figures from our Catholic tradition. It was wonderful to see such creativity and enthusiasm, thank you to those families who helped their children participate in making this day so special! Thank you, Mrs Stella, for organising the Mass and for all the beautiful singing from everyone.

SPAR stands for Stop. Pray. And. Reflect ... before work OR after drop -off.

Next SPAR: 15 November: Meet Mrs Gray in the foyer then we will go to the prayer room either before school at 8.15 - 8.40 am OR after drop off at 8.45 am - 9.15 am.

What is it? a time for parents to stop, breathe and pray in a context that welcomes all. It's mindfulness for parental wellbeing with a catholic twist!

If you think a night-time teams version of SPAR is better for you, please tell me at anne.gray1@dbb.catholic.edu.au

Engaging in the Family Masses on Sundays

Do you want to read at Mass on occasional Sundays with your child? It's a perfect way to role model "active participation" in the Mass which is part of our faith!

Prayers for our First Holy Communicants

Prayers for all the Year 4 - 6 children making this special sacrament this Sunday. The Eucharist is seen as "the source and summit" of our Catholic faith. The parents have been busy preparing their angels for this very special day as the first faith educators of their children. Hopefully it has been a real privilege, and in this role, they are supported by the RE curriculum taught by our amazing teachers at Holy Family. Special thanks to Maia, the sacramental coordinator at the Parish who has led us in the journey! Special shout out to Val and Yetta who painted beautiful "gifts of love" for their children with me.
