Principal's Message
Dear Holy Family Parents and Carers,
2025 Kindergarten Orientation
This week we held our first Kindergarten Orientation session, marking an important milestone for our incoming Kindy students and their families. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet our new students, welcome their families, and begin building a sense of community within our school. During the session, families had the chance to visit the Kindy classrooms, meet the teachers, and ask questions about the kindergarten program.
We are thrilled to welcome our youngest learners into our Holy Family community and look forward to the year ahead. The excitement and enthusiasm were evident, and it’s clear that we have an amazing group of students ready to begin their adventure in learning! We look forward to meeting another group of Kindy students next Wednesday.
Leadership 2025
Year 5 have begun their Student Leadership Program; throughout the process they have reflected on What Makes A Good Leader? Sighting the traits of respect, compassion and collaboration as some of the important elements needed for a good leader.
Learning to be a leader is a valuable part of school life at Holy Family. It recognises each student’s individual strengths and provides them with opportunities to develop their skills in their area of leadership. Our Leader in Me leadership program helps children grow in confidence and self-assurance, preparing them for life after primary school.
The 2025 student leadership team will be announced to the school community in the coming weeks. The students will receive their badges at the Opening School Commissioning mass at the beginning of the year. I would like to congratulate the students for their courage and commitment in applying for the various leadership positions.
What's happening next week?
As we approach another exciting week at Holy Family, we are filled with anticipation for the wonderful events that will be taking place. Each one is a special opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate our shared faith, commitment to learning, and school spirit.
Here’s a look at what’s ahead:
First Holy Communion at Lindfield – This Weekend
We are thrilled to celebrate the First Holy Communion with our students this weekend. This is a significant milestone in their faith journey, and we are proud to share this sacred moment with our families. Please keep these students in your prayers as they receive this beautiful sacrament.
Remembrance Day Liturgy – Monday
On Monday, we will gather as a school community for a special Remembrance Day Liturgy. This is a time for reflection, to honour those who have served our country, and to remember the sacrifices made for peace. All families are welcome to join us for this poignant and respectful service.
Colour Fun Run – Tuesday
On Tuesday, we will hold our annual Colour Fun Run! This is always a highlight of the year, where our students run for fun, raising funds for the school while getting splashed with colourful powder. It’s a fantastic day for everyone involved, and we encourage all students, parents and staff to join in the fun and show their school spirit.
2025 Kindergarten Transition Session No. 2 – Wednesday
Our next Kindergarten Transition session will take place on Wednesday. We are excited to welcome our 2025 Kindergarten cohort and their families for this important session. These transition days help our future Kindergarten students to feel more confident and ready for their journey with us.
RE Competition Showcase at Hornsby RSL – Wednesday Evening
In the evening, we will be celebrating the talents of some of students in the RE Competition Showcase at Hornsby RSL. This event will celebrate the outstanding work our students have done in religious education, and we look forward to showcasing their creativity and commitment to our faith. It promises to be a wonderful evening of sharing and recognition.
SPAR in Prayer Room for Parents – Thursday
On Thursday, we invite all parents to join us for SPAR in the Prayer Room. This is a beautiful opportunity to gather for prayer and reflection, strengthening our school community in faith and connection.
It’s shaping up to be a fantastic week, filled with meaningful experiences for our students, families, and staff. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!
Kindest regards,
Pauline Dinale
