Dear Families,
We welcome our 2025 Foundation families to our school newsletter this week. We hope it gives you a sense of what the children, teachers and families experience asa part of our little community.
What a fabulous day we had last Friday celebrating our wonderful Grandparents and Special People day. Our senior students organised a lovely Assembly to begin the day followed by morning tea, mass and concluding with an opportunity to share in classroom activities. the feedback from everyone was wonderful. We look forward to making this an annual event.
A huge thank you to one of our amazing parents Clare Garrett who has organised a Colour Fun Run for our very lucky students. Information went home last week as to how your children can raise money for the school but at the same time win prizes for themselves - win -win for everyone. The initial goal was $2000 and if this was reached a certain principal was going to get slimed -ugh!!! Well I better get ready because we are getting close to reaching that already. We might need to up the prize and see if a few more teachers (and maybe even a couple of students can join me in being slimed. Perhaps the student who raises the most gets to choose who it might be- that's pretty good incentive to raise some money. Everyone is welcome to participate on the day - Monday 16th December (time to be confirmed).
The local business calendar is coming along beautifully and the children are all having a great time getting into the spirit of the photo shoots. with a couple more photos to still be taken we hope to have it completed and sent to the printers in the next two weeks.
This Thursday all students will travel to Euroa to participate with St John's students in a sport/games 'Kaboom' excursion. We sincerely thank St John's for inviting us to join them as it is something we could not afford to do on our own. Please check the online permission form for more details.
It is that time of the year to announce staffing and classroom structure for 2025. I think it speaks wonders that I haven't had any queries from parents regrding this topic. It tells me the trust and respect that everyone has in our staff.
Classroom structure is a straight Foundation, Year 1/2, Year 3/4 and Year 5/6. That's right 4 classrooms - how exciting!
Staffing is
Foundation - Miss Gab
Year 1/2 - Term One Gen Stewart full time and from Term Two onwards sharing with Miss Maddy (returning from maternity leave).
Year 3/4 - Term One Jacqui Butler full time and from Term Two onwards sharing with Ebony Anderson (returning from maternity leave)
Year 5/6 - Shania Anderson
Specialists Term One Karen Gilchrist PE, Ebony Anderson Science, Bridgette Haysom Auslan, and Art to be confirmed. Mel K is taking some time to spend with family at this stage.
We wish Sarah Shiels and Simon all the very best for their wedding this Friday. We hope you have a wonderful day with memories to cherish forever.
We also wish Miss Maddy all the best as she begins maternity leave this week in exciting preparation for the arrival of 'baby girl' in December. We can't wait to meet the newest addition to your beautiful family.
Have a wonderful short week everyone.
Take care and stay safe,
Maree
