OFFICE HOURS

Our Administration Officer works from 8.30am - 4.00pm (Monday - Wednesday & Friday) and our support Administration Officer works from 9.00am - 3.00pm on a Thursday.

Dropping Off and Picking Up Children Before and After School

Parents and visitors are not permitted to park their cars in the bus drop off area between 8.30 am - 9.30 am and 2.30 pm - 4.00 pm. Please use the crossing when picking up or dropping off your child.

Absence from school

Parents are legally obliged to provide a reason for a child's absence from school. This can be done via PAM, a telephone call, in person, email or a text message. Once at school, no child shall leave the school premises or grounds unless picked up by an adult with the parents'  consent. The parent/adult picking up the child must inform the teacher/office and sign out the child from the office. If a child is not at school by 9.30am parents will be contacted if the school has not been notified.

Going to school every day is the single most important part of your child's education.

Assembly

Assembly is held every second Friday afternoon (unless there is another school commitment). This assembly brings the whole school together. Parents and friends are most welcome to attend particularly if their child's class is presenting a special item. Awards are given out during this time.

Child Sign In and Out Register

If parents need to collect their children during school hours or they arrive late they need to go to the front office and sign the register which is located in the foyer area.

Unwell children

If your child is not well please keep them at home.  It is not fair to expect a child who is unwell to participate in learning activities and we are also conscious of them spreading their illness throughout the class.

Medication at school

Families are reminded to please ensure they provide up to date medical plans and necessary, in date, medications to the office.

A signed authority form is required for staff to administer medications.

Parents are reminded that all medication, including non prescription to be administered at school or on camp or excursions, requires a pharmaceutical label detailing student name and dosage, along with a signed authority form is also required. If the appropriate permission is not sent with the medication it cannot be given to the student. It is also a good idea to mention to the student’s teacher that there is medication at the office and what time it is to be given.

Working with children check

We really value all parent/career participation in a variety of ways across the school. In order to enable you to do this you must provide a Working With Children Check. The WWCC is free for volunteers. We ask that all parents, grandparents, friends and careers who assist at the school (or intend to in the future) apply for the WWCC at www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au

or telephone the information line on 1300 652 879. If you need assistance with this, please come into the office. The school will also need a copy of your WWCC when it has been checked.
