What are we learning in Term Four?
PREP VISUAL ARTS:
In Visual Arts this term, our Prep students will delve into various areas of creative expression. They will explore basic lines, patterns, and shapes, using primary colours to bring their artworks to life. Additionally, they will engage in experimenting with construction materials and printing techniques to add depth and texture to their creations. Through these activities, they will develop their ability to identify and describe ideas in both viewed and created artworks. Our aim is to foster a love for art and encourage curiosity and exploration in our young artists.
YEAR 1 VISUAL ARTS:
Year One students will embark on an artistic journey focusing on the creation of artworks using simple shapes, lines, and patterns. They will hone their skills in effectively using art media and tools while identifying primary and secondary colours. Through experimentation with different materials, they will express their unique ideas, fostering creativity and imagination. Sharing and discussing their artwork with peers will further enrich their learning experience, promoting collaboration and communication skills essential for their holistic development.
YEAR 2 VISUAL ARTS:
This term, Year Two students will explore the elements of line, space, colour, and texture in their artistic endeavours. They will identify primary colours and learn to create secondary colours, while following instructions and processes to complete intricate artwork. Engaging in discussions and providing constructive feedback on their own and peers' creations will enhance their understanding and appreciation of visual arts. Our goal is to empower students to express themselves artistically and develop confidence in their creative abilities.
YEAR 3 VISUAL ARTS:
Year Three students will unleash their creativity as they design and produce imaginative pieces of art. They will follow art-making processes, applying various media and techniques to bring their visions to life. Constructing three-dimensional artworks will showcase their skill acquisition, while displaying, discussing, and evaluating their creations will foster critical thinking and self-reflection. Our emphasis is on nurturing independent thinking and self-expression while providing a supportive environment for artistic exploration and growth.
YEAR 4 VISUAL ARTS:
In Visual Arts, Year Four students will cultivate their ability to interpret artworks creatively, effectively utilizing a range of mediums and materials. They will learn to select and apply techniques and processes while engaging in discussions and evaluations of visual artworks. This term will encourage students to express themselves artistically while appreciating the diverse forms of artistic expression. We aim to instill in them a sense of appreciation for art and its role in society, encouraging them to become discerning consumers and creators of visual culture.
YEAR 5 VISUAL ARTS:
Year Five students will embark on a journey of artistic interpretation and creation. They will explore and develop techniques and processes to create diverse artworks, refining their work based on constructive feedback. By employing a range of mediums and materials, they will refine their skills while utilizing specific art vocabulary to express ideas and concepts in their creations. Our focus is on fostering creativity, resilience, and a growth mindset as students navigate the artistic process and develop their own unique artistic voice.
YEAR 6 VISUAL ARTS:
This term, Year Six students will hone their artistic skills as they competently plan and express ideas for their artworks. They will refine techniques using art tools, applying a range of media and materials effectively. Following art-making processes, they will produce desired outcomes, contributing to both individual and classroom discussions using appropriate language. Our aim is to empower students to take ownership of their artistic journey, equipping them with the skills and confidence to express themselves creatively in an increasingly visual world.
