Principal's Views

Welcome back to Term 4

We have an exciting calendar ahead, including upcoming events, and activities that foster our sense of community and school spirit. I encourage everyone to participate and make the most of these experiences.

Making the most of our day at school

At EVPS we support students to make the most of their day and their learning every single day.

Arrival time

This term, we are having a targeted focus on attendance and late arrivals. As you know, students must attend school each and every day. School begins each day at 8:50am. When students arrive at 8:50am, this allows them to fully participate in their morning meeting.

Morning Meetings

Between 8.50am and shortly after 9.00am, students are involved in a morning meeting with their peers and teacher. This is a transition time for students to get themselves ready for learning and to build relationships with their peers. This includes an inclusive greeting routine, emotional check in, values and expectations, announcements and a positive primer to start the day.

Planning for 2025

This term is also a pivotal time in our school year and planning is well underway for 2025. Please refer the Compass Post - Wednesday 10th October regarding class placement for the 2025 school year.

Please provide any relevant information or requests via email by Wednesday 16th October.

If your child will not be attending Epping Views Primary School, please contact the office on 8401 3791 or email epping.views.ps@education.vic.gov.au as soon as possible.

Safe Socials (Social Media Safety)

The Victorian government has launched the "Safe Socials" initiative to help parents and carers navigate children's online safety. The program provides resources and guidance on managing digital risks, promoting respectful online behavior, and understanding social media platforms. It aims to empower adults to support young people in making safer choices online, ensuring a healthier digital environment for families.

The attached Fact Sheet provides tips and resources for parents, carers and families to support children to be safe when using social media.

Kind regards,

Rachel Griffiths, Acting Principal
