Interschool Sport Athletics Carnivals!

Over the course of Term 3 and 4, the Greenvale Primary School students who qualified through our own Athletics Carnival have participated in the Greenvale District, Woodlands Division and North Metro Region Athletics Carnivals. Here are our results of some amazing efforts from our students! 

 

District Athletics 

On Friday 16th of August, Greenvale Primary School had 69 students competing at the Greenvale District Athletics Carnival. Students competed against 8 other schools in our district at Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Discus, Hurdles, 100m, 200m, 800m 1500m and 4x100m relay events. 

 

Students that finished 1st or 2nd in their event qualified for the Woodlands Division Athletics.

 

It was an enjoyable experience for all students with Greenvale Primary crowned as the district champions! 

Division Athletics 

On Tuesday 10th of September, Greenvale Primary School had 31 students participating in the Woodlands Division Athletics Carnival. Here, schools compete for their District, made up of multiple schools. Overall, they competed against approximately 55 different schools for a chance to compete at Region level, any student who finished 1st or 2nd qualified for the event.

 

The students were amazing all day and had a fantastic time. 

Region Athletics 

On Wednesday 16th of October, Greenvale Primary School had 3 students competing at the North Metro Region Athletics Carnival. 

 

Those students were: 

Ugurcan Cayrak 5BF -11 Year old Boys Long Jump, who finished 8th overall. 

Anna Veis 5ND -10 Year old Girls Long Jump who finished 6th overall 

Emily Kinden 5ND – 11 Girls Discus who finished 4th overall.

 

The school is immensely proud of this achievement, to make it this far is to compete against approximately 100 different schools.  Well done on a fantastic athletics year!
