Learning, growing and celebrating together...

Dear Sacred Heart Kew Families,

‘Art is not what you see, but what you make others see’ (Edgar Degas - French Artist 1834 - 1917)

What a fabulous ‘Art-full’ afternoon we all had last Friday. Despite the weather, the Art certainly didn’t disappoint, as hundreds of children, parents, siblings, cousins, grandparents, aunties, uncles and neighbours streamed through the MPR corridor, into a world full of rich colour, happiness and fun. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our school, and all our magnificent young artists.

I would like to acknowledge and congratulate all our very creative and inspiring children who exhibited their art pieces, sharing their many artistic talents with us, speaking to us in different mediums, colours and tones. The array of artwork on display spoke to each of us in different ways, on different levels, giving us a glimpse into each child’s unique and expressive minds. It was lovely on Monday seeing all our children visit the Art Show with their peers, enjoying a quieter visit, celebrating their own and each other's, efforts and skills.

Thank you to our teachers and staff for their support of the Art Show and a MASSIVE well done to Mrs Burnes (our AMAZING Visual Arts teacher) for all her preparation and superb presentation of a truly SPECTACULAR Art Show event. On behalf of the whole school community I sincerely thank Nicole for her vision, passion and energy that she shares and provides to all our children, within the Visual Arts space. Nicole’s love of art really does inspire our children to great heights, as we all witnessed walking through and around the Art Show gallery. We are most fortunate to have such a creative and dedicated Visual Arts teacher at Sacred Heart Kew.

Thanks also to our Parents' Association for supplying a delicious Afternoon Tea full of scrumptious goodies to enjoy, whilst we immersed ourselves in our stunning SHK Art Gallery. We very much appreciated all the parents who were able to assist in various roles throughout the afternoon and evening.

Our biennial Art Show once again showcased just how much our school children continue to excel and shine, across various subjects and learning areas. It was yet another example, highlighting the many opportunities our children are provided with, which enables them to learn, grow and celebrate together here at Sacred Heart Kew. We should all be very proud of our school and the diverse learning environment which exists, that all school community members contribute to, each and every day.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend.

Kind Regards,
