Melbourne Cup Special Assembly

The students, teachers, parents and guests had a fantastic time today at the Special Melbourne Cup Assembly. The students learned about the history of the Melbourne Cup and had a great time listening to Bryan Martin, Lucy's grandfather, call our very own Donvale Cup Race with the teachers. Congratulations to Mr Hogg for coming in first place! The assembly had a festive atmosphere, showcasing the power of community coming together to provide students with enriched experiences and build school pride. It was an extra special day for Lucy and her family to have her grandfather here at the school and sharing his story about become a race caller and his career in the media. It is always a pleasure having Nicole Werner supporting our school events and she had some lovely words to say about our fabulous school community.

Chanel 9 News were present and there is a very good chance that we will be featured on Tony Jones' sport report at the 4:00pm and 6:00pm bulletin, so stay tuned!

Well done to our school captains Eleanor, Andre, Lucy and JZ for co-writing the event plan and running sheet. They did a brilliant job hosting the assembly. Our Junior choir sang beautifully. A big thank you to Mrs Hodgson, Mr Reiter, Mr Hogg, Mrs Costopoulos, Mrs Keep and Sarah Rubython for their work in ensuring our special assembly was a huge success.

World Teachers’ Day

On World Teachers' Day, we were overwhelmed by the outpouring of gratitude from our families towards our dedicated teachers. The day was filled with celebrations, and we were delighted to have Luky and Liz Szedlak showcase their culinary talents with a delicious morning tea and brunch for our staff. Special thanks to Caroline Kofos for creating individual cupcakes to add a sweet touch to the day.

Warm regards
