State Athletics Championships Achievement

The journey Samia has been on has been one of epic proportions in the track and field side of interschool sport! Through constant practice using weights and shot puts at home, at school in training sessions and in the Physical Education program Samia has been able to develop her technique to give the ability to throw her 2 kg shot put far. Her strong skills has allowed Samia to come 2nd with a throw of 7.46m and advance to the State Championships!

Samia gave her absolute all at the State Championship last Wednesday. With three excellent throws, her best was a 7.71m, only 2cm short of her personal best. Overall, Samia came 7th but to put this into perspective, the 7th best shot put throw in the entire state!

That is quite impressive, especially under the pressure of a championship setting. We want to congratulate Samia on her spectacular performance and proudly wore her state jumper to commemorate her achievement!
