Dear  Parents and Carers,

The time for parents to provide feedback about their child’s class placement for 2025 has now passed. Any email sent to me via principal@ will receive an acknowledgment response. If you haven’t received a response, please contact the office. Our teachers are working hard to compile class lists for 2025, considering all students' different needs.

Enrolment for 2025

School organisational planning for 2025 is well underway, assuming all students enrolled in form Prep to Year 5 will return in the 2024 school year.  If not, I ask that you contact the school office immediately and notify your intentions, office@ssrowville.catholic.edu.au. This information assists the school leadership immensely with the planning and resourcing for the 2025 school year.

Remembrance Day

This week, our school gathered to commemorate Remembrance Day with a whole school liturgy led by Year Two students in the Church.

The students, throughout the liturgy, reminded us why remembrance day is an important part of our Australian Culture, and by remembering, we honour the sacrifice of service men and women of the past and present made as to protect the way of life and democratic principles we experience in the current times.

Thank you to the many families who joined us for celebrating this liturgy and for the collective reverence demonstrated throughout the liturgy.

Thank you to the Year Two teachers and Hedy Carvalho for leading the students in the liturgy preparations.

One of our students in Year 4 has written a thoughtful poem about the essence and meaning of Remembrance Day, which encapsulates the sentiment of the occasion beautifully. Thank you to Neve Stone (4R) for sharing with us.

Season of Advent: Liturgies at St Simon’s

As we approach the year's end, the Advent season is upon us.  This is a time in our church calendar when we prepare for the birth of Jesus, ultimately celebrated on Christmas Day.

In the lead-up to Christmas, the four Sundays prior are marked as days to celebrate the Advent season.  At St Simon’s School, we celebrate and enter into the spirit of Advent through four student-led liturgies during the final weeks of the school term. The liturgies will take place as follows, Starting time 2:30pm in the church.

  • Monday 2nd December
  • Monday 9th December
  • Friday 13th December
  • Monday 16th December

All members of our school community are encouraged to attend and join the students at these liturgies as this forms part our end of year Christmas celebrations.
