From the Principal

Benvenuto - Welcome

Dear Parents and Carers,

Year 12 Mass

Everyone who attended the Year 12 Mass last week would agree that it was a magnificent celebration. To gather for the first time with Year 12 graduates and celebrate the completion of secondary school was a landmark occasion for the college. After the mass the 2025 College captains were announced. Congratulations to the following students:

Year 12 Exams

Our Year 12 exams have started smoothly. Thanks to our senior staff who have gone above and beyond to ensure the program has been organised to the minute and the students are supported in every way possible. The commitment and emotional investment that the St Anne's College staff have to the Year 12 students is indisputable and wonderful to witness. Please keep our Year 12 students in your thoughts and prayers over the next few weeks.

School Structure

As mentioned last week, St Anne’s College is having some significant changes in 2025. ALL Sandhurst schools are implementing the new Magnify Learning and Teaching program. This new approach will bring significant changes in literacy, maths and science andteachers will be delivering an explicit, direct and consistent curriculum from Foundation to Year 12. I am confident this will provide the students in our college with a first class education that will guide each and every student as they progress through the year levels.

The second major adjustment is the change from the current three-school model to a Primary (F-6) and Secondary (7-12) structure. This will require some thought as we restructure our Primary students into the following grades for 2025:

Foundation (2 classes), Gr 1 (2 classes), Gr 2 (2 classes), Gr 3/4 (3 classes), Gr 5 (1 class), Gr 6 (2 classes).

Water Week Competition

Congratulations to Year 1 student Hannah Potter who is a published author after winning GV Water's Water Week book making competition. What a fantastic achievement! Thank you Hannah for representing St Anne’s College at such a high level!

College Advisory Council

It was great to meet with our College Advisory Council for the first time last week. I greatly appreciate the work that the group takes part in to work on school improvement. I look forward to working with them into the future.

Year 10 Formal

Our Year 10 students looked magnificent all dressed up last Friday for their formal. It was wonderful to see so many family members attend to witness our students “coming of age!”. The students had a ball dancing to DJ Jamie and letting their hair down. Thank you to the staff who organised the event and stayed late cleaning up.  We are very lucky to have such dedicated people working at St Anne’s College.
