Prep

Hello from Prep H!

We have been working so hard in Prep and can’t believe we are already in Term 4! We have learnt so much over the year and we love to question everything to gain a deeper understanding!

Numeracy

In maths we have been practising skip counting by tens. We use lots of funny songs to help us and we also made these skip counting caterpillars.

We have also been collecting data and creating graphs using this data. We designed our very own ice cream sundae and asked everyone in Prep H if they would like to eat it or not. We had everything added from strawberries and chocolate sauce to stinky socks and leaves! After we asked all our friends, we graphed our results!

Literacy

In literacy we have been reading lots of stories. We have been working on retelling the story and including the beginning, middle and end. We have been working on finding the important parts in the story like the problem and the solution. 

In UFLI we love playing roll and read to practise our new sounds. We have been playing this all different ways like, 6 in a row, race to the bottom or race to the top. Our favourite way to play is to choose a winning number before we start and see if it wins at the end! We are getting so good at reading our words with our new sounds!
