Year 10 Commerce ASX Excursion
On Monday 14 October, students from Year 10 Commerce visited the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) to celebrate World Investor Week.
The students attended a special bell ringing ceremony which was attended by ASX CEO Helen Lofthouse, and Hon. Stephen Jones MP, Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Financial Services.
They then heard a presentation by Rob Nash (ASX Head of Equities Relationship Management). This presentation was focused on the history of the ASX, the basics of investing along with a question time about the many external influences on the share market.
Pittwater House was extended this invitation due to the continued success Jesse (G10) has had over the past two months on the ASX Schools Share market Game.
The ASX Schools Share market Game continues to introduce the share market to new generations and is a fantastic way for students to experience the volatility of the share market without any risk. Participation in this game is a key component of the Year 10 Commerce course.
