Well, we were on the look out for some rain, and over the past week we certainly got it. Hopefully, wherever you are, you got some welcome rain and pastures and crops are on the move.
Another welcome break happened last weekend with the WA Day public holiday and the additional day in lieu of Open Day for those who had it. There is a positive vibe around the College which is nice to see.
Sickness
As we move into darker, colder and wetter weather we will see the usual spate of colds and flus affecting staff and students. Also, it appears COVID has been popping up here and there around the community. The COVID years of the early 2020s taught us that when we are sick the best option is to go home to recuperate quicker and reduce transmission within the College. We still maintain hand sanitising stations around the College and we encourage staff, students and visitors to use them.
Year 12s
We are now halfway through the term and half way through the year for those Year 12 General students who have finished all components of their course. This final phase for Year 12s will go quickly, but there is still time to ensure that students finish their schooling with the highest outcomes possible.
Typically, we see some Year 12s become increasingly fractious as the end of their schooling approaches and this is understandable. I trust that parents are staying in close contact with their child’s progress and attitude in these final few months and maintaining a positive pressure. Little things like maintaining that uniforms are still in suitable condition, ensuring student drivers leave home in time for school, minimising un-necessary absences and tracking assessment progress, are all important to ensure a positive finish to the schooling years.
Have a great weekend
