Year 5/6 Learning Reflection

During Numeracy this week the Grade 5/6 students have been learning about decimal numbers.

We have been comparing decimal numbers up to 3 places, placing decimals numbers on a number line, expanding decimals numbers to add and subtract and solving word problems involving decimal numbers.

As part of our Literacy Block, the Grade 6 students have continued to create and draft their response to our class serial read Free Diving. They have been developing their introductory paragraph, summary paragraph and personal response paragraph to give the reader all they need to get a good overview of the text.

5A continue to practice their reading during paired fluency.

The Grade 5 students have also been crafting a 'welcome pack' for the elephants in their new enclosure at Werribee Open Range Zoo, as part of our Unit of Work - The Best Habitat in the World.

Grade 6 students have been creating scripts and practising Help Seeking scenarios in SEL.

As part of our Art work relating to the Grade 6 serial read Free Diving, the students created a sea scene using water colours and other materials to add texture.

Aren't they stunning!
