Grade 3 & 4

National Simultaneous Storytime

Across the school students participated in National Simultaneous Storytime on Wednesday 21st May. This involved joining a live stream with over two million students across Australia to listen to the author Deborah Frenkel read "The Truck Cat".  Students then discussed the characters, the main events and the message that the story shared.

"My favourite part was how the characters had a strong connection to each other. I liked how something told Yacoub to go into the bakery and he ended up finding Tinka there." - Adam Khodr

"At the start they were all feeling lonely and they missed home. I liked at the end when Tinka actually got a full family and Yacoub got a real person to be with." - Hajra Nasir

"My favourite part was when Tinka purred into the sky at night on Yacoub's lap. I liked that part because the scene was under the Milky Way" - Abdimajed Ibrahim

"My favourite part was when Yacoub was driving with Tinka in the truck and they thought about their memories." - Joanne Hammoud
