Excursion 

Our adult participants recently enjoyed a delightful outing to a local cafe, where we had the opportunity to relax, connect with one another, and put our skills into practice in a real-world setting. It was a wonderful time of laughter, learning, and shared experiences that strengthened both our confidence and our sense of community.

Visitors to the Hub

On May 19th, 2025, Meadows Primary School Community Hub had the distinct honour of welcoming several esteemed guests, including Lizzie Blandthorn, Minister for Children; Kathleen Matthews, MP; Jarrod Bell, Mayor of Hume City Council; along with other dedicated local councillors.

This special visit provided a fantastic opportunity to proudly showcase the diverse range of programs offered through our Hub. Our guests were taken on a guided tour of the Hub, where they experienced firsthand the vibrant, inclusive, and supportive environment we’ve created for families and community members.

Following the tour, we engaged in a meaningful discussion on the importance of building genuine connections and relationships within our communities—connections that empower individuals and create lasting, positive change in people’s lives.

We are deeply grateful for the ongoing support and recognition from our local leaders, and we look forward to continuing our work in fostering a strong, connected, and thriving community.

Community events and programs

Dallas Neighbourhood House

Broadmeadows Resident Advisory Team, which operates out of Dallas Neighbourhood House. This initiative is supported by placement students currently undertaking their Diploma and Bachelor of Community Services. These students work under supervision to assist community members with a range of supports and needs.

Some of the areas we provide assistance with include:

• Completing forms and applications
• Navigating Centrelink processes
• Housing support
• Advocacy (with client consent), including online applications, phone calls, and emails
• General guidance and information

Where issues fall outside of our scope, we ensure community members are referred to the most appropriate external services.

Our service hours are:

Monday, Tuesday & Thursday: 10am – 2pm (by appointment only)

• Wednesday: 10am – 2pm (walk-in service)

Community Hubs Australia

Community hubs are embedded in primary schools and connect families from diverse cultural backgrounds with the wider community. They connect women and their young children with each other and their school through a variety of activities and with organisations that can provide health, education and settlement support.

MPS Community Hub timetable

We’re excited to welcome you to our Hub—a space designed to connect families with each other, the school and kindergarten, and with local support services and community networks.

You're invited to drop in for a coffee or tea and a friendly chat! Melissa is available Monday to Friday, and Gonul—who also speaks Arabic and Turkish—is available on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

We’d love to hear from you! If you have any suggestions, ideas for future programs, or events you'd like to participate in at the Hub, please don’t hesitate to share with us.

At Meadows Primary School Community Hub, we encourage and support community engagement through a range of programs and services open to both the school and the wider community.
