Community Leaders

Each week our community leaders play an integral role in supporting the day to day operations of the school. Not only do they support our office staff, but also the leadership team to complete administrative tasks, including opening and closing gates for deliveries, showing visitors around our school, helping teachers during learning activities in various year levels, and collecting items of uniform left out in the yard after breaks.

Our community leaders spend a lot of time during the day moving around the school. It is important, for the purposes of occupational health and safety, that all community leaders wear smart, casual clothing and just like they would on a normal school day, they must wear closed-toe shoes or runners. NO CROCS, UGG BOOTS, THONGS OR SLIDES are to be worn onsite.

Mobile Phones in Schools

The Department of Education has very clear expectations in place regarding student use of mobile phones in schools. Note that this is a Ministerial policy formally issued by the Minister for Education under section 5.2.1(2)(b) of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic). This policy outlines the requirements of the Minister for Education relating to students using mobile phones during school hours. In summary,

  • Students who bring mobile phones to school must have them switched off and securely stored during school hours.
  • For the purpose of this policy, a mobile phone is a telephone with access to a cellular (telecommunication) system, with or without a physical connection to a network, and includes smart watches that are SIM enabled.

Uniform

As we head into winter next week, please ensure your child's school jumpers, jackets and beanies are clearly labelled. We have several items in lost property that have been left unclaimed. Our community leaders collect these items at the end of each break and return them to the classrooms.
