Division Cross Country

On Tuesday 3rd June, eight students proudly represented POPS and the Ringwood District at the Combined Maroondah and Manningham Division Cross Country Carnival. The event took place at the beautiful Yarra Glen Racecourse, offering a scenic backdrop as competitors ran through chilly, wet conditions.

With temperatures peaking at just 12°C and scattered showers throughout the day, our runners tackled the challenging conditions head-on. Thankfully, despite the rain, the course was not as muddy as in previous years. Students in the 11-year-old and 12/13-year-old age groups completed a 3km course, while the 9/10-year-olds ran a 2km track.

Each student gave it their all and should be congratulated on their efforts and sportsmanship. Here’s how our team performed:

huge congratulations goes to Judd H, who finished 8th out of 60 students in his age group and has qualified to compete at the Eastern Region Cross Country Carnival next Thursday 12th June, again at Yarra Glen. What an incredible achievement!

A heartfelt thank you to all the parents who generously took the time to support their children on the day.

I’m so proud of all our runners, your determination and resilience are truly inspiring. Well done team P.O.P.S!
