Mental Health
& Wellbeing update
As mentioned in last fortnight’s newsletter, SEL is an important part of the development of students’ capacity to build healthy relationships, resilience and confidence. In the last edition, we discussed the RRRR program. This fortnight, we will look at another of our SEL programs, The Resilience Project.
What is the Resilience Project?
The Resilience Project is centred around the core principles of Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness, and Emotional Literacy. Lessons are fun & engaging, including tasks to complete in Student Journals as well as Teacher Resource Sheets to support lessons and promote further discussion. Students are involved in weekly Resilience Project sessions with their classroom teacher and our Wellbeing Chaplain, Megan.
The program takes a whole school approach with materials for students, staff and parents- we look forward to being able to share more of the parent content with you as the term and year continues!
We’re proud to be part of the School Breakfast Clubs Program, which provides us with a selection of essential items such as UHT milk, cereals, fruit, and other breakfast staples—free of charge.
As such, as we head into the colder months, we thought your family might appreciate a small collection of assorted items to use at home, or to share with someone who may benefit from them. Hopefully this collection of items successfully made its way home to you last Tuesday, May 20th.
For those looking to support their child more at home with their SEL, there's an excellent app called 'Raising Healthy Minds'. The app is accessible via the following link: https://raisingchildren.net.au/guides/raising-healthy-minds-child-mental-health
