Miss Deane - Junior Classroom Teacher

Literacy has been full on this week in the Junior room :)

For InitaLit, in Miss Deane group the Preps have been adding to their list of sounds with 'h' and 'o'. They are also super proud of themselves, with the introduction of the tricky words 'is' and 'are' they can now read simple sentences with confidence.

For the grade 1's and 2's they have added both forms of the 'o' sound to their vocabulary with 'ow' and 'oa'. The smart cookies have also been building their understanding of what an adjective is.

For maths we have finished our Shape unit for the term. this week we have been learning what a polygon is, a parallelogram is and what parallel lines look like.

In science we are covering external features on living things. Students were loving learning how different animal can survive using their different features and skills.
