3/4B

Mr Brendan

Welcome Miss Ashleigh

Next week we officially welcome back Miss Ashleigh who will work in 3/4B while Mr Brendan takes PE every Wednesday. Miss Ashleigh returns from maternity leave and will take over from Miss Kim. A big thankyou to Miss Kim for all of the wonderful work in 3/4B over the past term and a half. We will also see Miss Ashleigh every Thursday for our extra PE classes. Miss Kim will continue to be our STEM teacher and work with our extension and intervention Maths groups.

First Communion

A Big Congratulations to our Year 4 students who on the 15th of June will be celebrating their First Holy Communion. They have been working diligently to prepare for this most important celebration. Well done to: Dwayne, Harley, Xaivier, Matilda, Nicholas, Samuel, Maddie and Everard. Year 3/4 will be celebrating a Mass in Week 10 on the 26th June where these students will get to go to Holy Communion with the rest of the Parish. All parents and families are welcome to join us.

Who Am I?

In our recent informative writing tasks we have been collecting facts on animals of the Amazon Rainforest. Working in pairs, students collected a variety of facts and information about their designated animal and then placed these facts onto Google Slides. This past week has seen pairs of students sharing their Who Am I's with the rest of the class. Great fun!

Maths

This week we began our Data topic. Our goal in this unit will be to record, represent and compare data the students have collected. Students will be creating and conducting surveys and placing their data into different graphs.

Inquiry - Water Cycle Model

In Week 9, we are going to begin researching and creating our water cycle models. For this project, we will need a range of different recyclable materials to help build our models. If you have any of the following materials at home, we would love it if you could bring some in to use for your model.

  • Cardboard sheets and tubes
  • Cellophane
  • Coloured paper
  • Cotton wool
  • Paper straws
  • Patty pans
  • String
  • Tissue paper
  • Wool

Other items are fine, the above list is just an example of some recyclable items that may be useful. Students can commence bringing these items in after the long weekend. We thank you for your continued support.

June Birthdays

Happy Birthday Matilda!
