LOTE

Level 3 – My Family

This term, Level 3 students began learning about family members in Chinese, including parents, siblings, and grandparents. They practised using the sentence pattern "wǒ yǒu... 我有..." (I have...) to describe their own families.

Level 4 – Our Body

Level 4 students continued learning about body parts in Chinese this term. They also learned how to describe their hair and eye colour using sentences such as “wǒ de tóu fǎ shì hēi sè. 我的头发是黑色。” (My hair is black).

Level 5 – Our School

This term in LOTE, Level 5 students have been learning the Chinese names for various school facilities. They explored and labelled these locations on an enlarged map of the school, helping them become more familiar with both the vocabulary and their school environment.

Level 6 - Travelling

In Term 2, Level 6 students explored the topic of travel in Chinese. They learned useful phrases such as “wǒ xiǎng qù/ chī/ hē/ mǎi… 我想去/吃/喝/买…” (I want to go/eat/drink/buy…) to express their preferences while travelling. Our Chinese background learners also researched famous Chinese landmarks, foods, drinks, and souvenirs, and presented their findings to the class.
