From the Principal

Hi everyone,

We have had some exciting news since the last newsletter with the state budget allocating funds to our building project! We will now move ahead with the process of taking the plans drawn up last year and turning these into a brand new two storey building with learning spaces, art rooms, library and S.T.E.M rooms. We anticipate that the timeline of the build will be over an extended period of time and we have plenty of space to move classrooms and teachers as needed to accommodate any building works as well as the students here at OGPS.

We have also been awarded a Bronze award for the School Wide Positive Behaviours program here at OGPS. A huge shout out to our students, SWPBS implementation team and the teaching staff for their work in this achievement. The awards start at Blue level, then Bronze, then Silver and finally Gold. Each level must be achieved and awarded before the next can be worked towards. To have been awarded a level for each year of implementation is a fantastic result for our school. Next year we will aim for our Silver level.

We had 5 students attend the Whitehorse Division Cross Country on Monday, with all 5 making it through to the regional races in the coming weeks. Well done Anna, Olly, Olive, Maddie and Will on their races and we wish them all the best for their Regional races.

Thank you to the parent helpers for our Pizza Day lunch - the organisation both before and on the day allowed our students to have a exciting and special lunch event.

Finally, don't forget to find and follow us on the socials, Facebook and Instagram. We aim to share photos from all of our events - with photos from announcements (like the S.T.E.M building), excursions (the Year 4's have been to Scienceworks this week) and exciting activities and events across the school (Cross Country and Kitchen Garden have featured this week).
