Fete

Laughter and plenty of local spirit were on display at the return of the Donald High School Fete held on Friday 23rd, drawing a fantastic crowd and delivering a day full of fun, food, and festivities.

The school grounds buzzed with excitement as families; primary school students and the public explored a range of creative and crowd-pleasing stalls. One of the biggest hits of the day was the Haunted House, a spooky student-run attraction that had a constant line of thrill-seekers. The level of detail and imagination impressed all who dared to enter.

Other popular attractions included face painting, which kept the younger crowd smiling with colourful designs, a cosy coffee shop offering barista-made brews and sweet treats, hearty baked potatoes that satisfied hungry visitors, and a classic lucky dip stall full of surprises. Assistant Principal, Tony Cashin said “It was great to see students take ownership and step up to run their activities.”

The bake sale was a sight to see, with families donating impressive creations. We wholeheartedly thank the parents and school community for these donations that raised over $1200. The monster grocery raffle was also donated by families and school community which raised over $700. Congratulations to the Krause family who was lucky enough to take home this haul. Thank you to Loveshack giftware and Choose Food for adding donations to our hamper as well.

All funds raised from the fete will be spent with the guidance of SRC on something for student use.

Principal, Paul Aikman expressed “It was great to see so many families and members of the community come along and support our fete day. Thank you to Miss Cavanagh who organised with the assistance of Carolyn Potter, Ange Donnellon and Belicia Francis. And thanks to our students and all DHS staff for contributing.”

Thank you to the primary schools and community members for attending and supporting our school.

Buloke Health Expo

"Last Tuesday our year 9 & 10 students went to the Buloke Health Expo where highly-sought after speaker Tim O'Donnell opened the day with a discussion, and a Shrek performance on Mental Health. Ambulance Victoria taught us how to save lives & Wimmera Health Services Dietitians taught us about Healthy Eating before encouraging us to make some delicious smoothies on their smoothie bikes.

After making our own sandwiches at lunch, played a range of fun and exciting games that got the heart pumping. Shanae was the one to beat at the light up challenge! "
