Mass of St Patrick for Schools

St Patrick's Cathedral Day Mass ☘️
On Friday 20 March, we went to the St Patrick’s Cathedral and attended the Mass as part of Catholic Education Week. The leaders that went on this Friday were Olivia and Riley (School Captains), Amelia and Josh (Vice Captains) and Chloe and Leisel (RE Captains). We all had a great day together and it was a great experience!
In the morning, we were dropped off at Rosanna station half asleep but ready for the fun ahead of us. After a short wait we headed up to the platforms only to find out that the myki card readers were at the bottom of the station! Finally we got on the train ready for the mass. At last we were at Jolimont Station, or at least we thought we were… Turns out we missed our stop all because we were talking about the footy! Anyway, shortly after that shamozzle we jumped off at Parliament Station which turned out to get us there way quicker! Finally we made it to the Mass where Olivia and Riley were asked to take the banner down the aisle near the altar while the bagpipes played loudly. As we walked out we then placed our banner on the floor. Finally we found our seat at the back which gave us a perfect view of the choir. We were still able to listen and see Archbishop Comensoli through extremely cool screens! When the Mass was finished, we walked out of the Cathedral, grabbed our banner and had a photo taken by a drone!
After the Mass, we walked over to the Fitzroy Gardens and had our lunch. That fueled us for all the fun and excitement that was waiting for us at the park. We waited in line until it was finally our turn to play soccer against another school. Although we worked together as a team, unfortunately we lost the game. After the soccer match we listened to some high school bands play live music and danced along, having great fun with each other. After all that soccer playing and dancing we were tired out and ready to go back home. Once we were finished up at the park we walked back up to the train station and hopped back on the train. After a while we got off at our stop and walked back to school from Rosanna station. When we arrived back at school we headed back up to our classrooms, telling our classmates about all the wonderful experiences we had at the St. Patrick's l Day Mass.
