A Walk Through Asia

Our Stage 3 student have been on an incredible journey exploring the rich and diverse cultures of Asia!

Each individual selected a country and brought their learning to life by designing and building a traditional home, alongside a creative slideshow showcasing their discoveries.

 Throughout this project, students explored:

 Traditional housing and village layouts

 Written and spoken language

 Cultural foods and eating customs

 Flags and national identity

 Religion, festivals, and ceremonies

Community, family life, and shared responsibilities

Over 10 weeks of learning Stage 3 gained a deeper understanding of how people live, work, and cooperate within their communities, and how culture shapes everyday life.

Using a mix of creativity and innovation, students constructed their houses with recyclable materials, and thoughtfully selected resources such as synthetic grass, cotton buds, and foam boards.

On Wednesday, Senior School welcomed the other year groups into their classroom for an exciting Asia geography expo that filled the school with wonder and amazement. Students from Kindy to Year 4 entered the Seniors’ room and were greeted with magnificent models, bright displays, and amazing Expo tables prepared by the older students. The Seniors set up interactive games, decorations, and clear information for the younger students to explore, creating an energetic and engaging atmosphere. As visitors moved around the room, the Seniors explained their projects and encouraged everyone to join in. The expo was a great success, with students enjoying themselves and learning more about Asia.

Thank you to all Senior students that put their hard work and dedication towards this Asia Geography Expo. Their models, displays, and interactive activities were enjoyed by every class from Kindy to Year 4, and it was wonderful to see how confidently they shared their ideas with younger students. The Seniors created a fun, welcoming space for others to learn and explore, filling the room with excitement and curiosity as each group moved through the activities. Their effort, teamwork, and positive attitude helped make the whole event a great success, and they were an awesome representation of leadership.

PBL Focus: Celebrate Success

At our school, we take time to recognise and celebrate the positive choices students make every day. Whether it’s showing kindness, trying their best, or achieving a learning goal, we celebrate these moments to encourage confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of belonging. Every success, big or small, helps build a positive, supportive school community.

Leader in Me Habit: Find your voice

Habit 8 encourages children to discover what they are good at, what they care about, and how they can make a positive difference. At home, parents can support this by helping their child recognise their strengths, express their ideas confidently, and take pride in who they are. When children “find their voice,” they build self‑belief and learn that their thoughts, talents, and actions matter.

Friendology Focus: Use Your Friendship Builders

We are revisiting the skills that help us create strong, healthy friendships.

Practical examples include:

  • Being honest and keeping promises.
  • Including others in games and conversations.
  • Speaking kindly, giving compliments, and repairing friendships after problems.

Catholic Value: Joy

Our value this fortnight is Joy, finding happiness in our relationships, learning, and God’s presence in our lives.

Practical examples include:

  • Celebrating others’ successes with a happy heart.
  • Bringing a positive attitude to the classroom.
  • Finding moments of gratitude each day and sharing joy with others through kindness.

Year 1 ’ s Egg‑cellent Egg Hunt

Gallery Image

This Sunday, Year 1 visited Bicentennial Park, West Pymble for an easter egg hunt 🐰. The children, along with their siblings, had an amazing time. It was wonderful to see so many families come together, with students joined by their siblings for a relaxed and enjoyable morning outdoors.

Children explored the park’s open spaces and garden areas as they searched for colourful eggs, sharing plenty of excitement and teamwork along the way. The event provided a lovely opportunity for families to connect, for students to spend time with friends outside the classroom, and for everyone to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Once all the eggs had been discovered, the children gathered together to celebrate their success with a well‑earned chocolate feast. There were big smiles all around as they compared their finds, swapped treats with siblings and friends, and enjoyed a relaxed moment to unwind after all the running and searching.

The morning was a wonderful blend of activity, community spirit, and seasonal fun, and it was clear that the children thoroughly enjoyed every part of the experience.

Our Day at Art SPARK!

On Monday, a lucky group of us - Anya, Ayn, Shawn, Kabir, and I headed off for a massive day of creativity at Art SPARK. It wasn’t just your average art class; it was a chance to go wild with heaps of colour and some pretty cool ideas.

First up, we dove into the world of Franz Marc. He’s famous for his "Blue Horses," so we all had a go at creating our own versions. It felt a bit strange painting horses blue at first, but they ended up looking amazing and really stood out on the canvas!

It was such a fun Monday, and we all came back to school feeling like proper artists. A huge thanks to the teachers for organising it!

Consistency – Sticking With It!

Consistency keeping our actions steady and reliable. In school, being consistent means trying your best every day, showing positive behaviour, and not giving up when things get tricky. Just like running a Cross-Country race, consistency is about keeping going rather than stopping and starting.

To help children build consistency at home, here are a few simple habits:

  • Set small daily goals – like reading for 10 minutes or packing their own bag.
  • Create routines – morning and bedtime routines help children know what to expect.
  • Follow through – if a child makes a commitment, encourage them to finish it.
  • Praise effort, not perfection – celebrate steady progress.
  • Model consistency – children learn by watching the adults around them.

With consistent habits, children develop confidence, responsibility, and resilience, skills that support learning and wellbeing every day.
