Multi‑Purpose Stadium

Over the past 10 days, it has been wonderful to see our students enjoying a wide variety of activities in our new Multi‑Purpose Stadium, following our recent Commencement Assembly and the Official Opening of this outstanding facility. Thank you to everyone who contributed to bringing this project to life. The benefits it will provide for our current students—and for generations to come—are both significant and exciting.

We were delighted to welcome students, families, staff, Board members, past and present, and our valued community partners last week. We were also honoured by the attendance of Senator Deborah O’Neill, Senator for New South Wales, whose presence enabled us to formally acknowledge the $2.5 million of Australian Government funding, along with the generous local contributions that helped realise this $13.1 million development.

Principal Scott Downward reflected on the dual purpose of the event: celebrating the achievements and post‑school pathways of the Class of 2025, and officially opening a facility designed to expand opportunity, enhance learning, and support wellbeing for generations of students and staff.

He reflected on the broader purpose of the occasion:

“The purpose of school is to ensure that every student can pursue their desired career path and enter the world beyond school as values‑driven people of high character with the confidence, skills and attributes to make a difference to the world.”

In opening the Stadium, he emphasised that its impact extends well beyond infrastructure:

“The greater celebration will be walking through the stadium when it is in regular use and observing the magic that happens in each new learning space as our staff support student growth, aspiration and the pursuit of personal bests.”

Addressing students directly, Mr Downward reinforced the mindset that underpins achievement:

“You won’t achieve if you do not believe.”

He encouraged all students to understand that self‑belief is the foundation of progress—providing the confidence to try, grow, overcome setbacks, and continue moving forward.

Senator O’Neill also shared a powerful message for the year ahead, reminding students:

“You are really important to the future of our country. Be the best, kindest, and most generous person that you can be. That will make the biggest difference.”

The opening of the Multi‑Purpose Stadium represents much more than a new set of facilities. It reflects our School’s commitment to contemporary learning environments, to expanding opportunity, and to nurturing aspiration and belief in every child, every day.

Moama Anglican Grammar extends sincere thanks to our Board, government representatives, community partners, generous donors, staff, students and families. Your collective support continues to shape the future of our School and ensures that this remarkable new facility will enrich learning, wellbeing and community connection for many years to come.

Early Learning Centre Update

There has been significant behind‑the‑scenes activity in recent months following the announcement of a $3.36 million government grant to support the development of a Preschool for our community. Planning for our Early Learning Centre continues to progress on schedule. We have recently submitted our Provider Approval application and are now in the process of finalising our Service Approval application. We look forward to hosting an information session for all interested families in the near future.

Kind regards,
