The Senior Years Splash Dances were an impressive display of talent, while the staff vs. student novelty race drew huge cheers from the crowd, with the staff showing off their skills winning comfortably against the students.
The Village 4x25m relays were a display of the top swimmers from each village going against each other. Students gathered by the pool to cheer on their teams in a nail-biting finish.

Momentum in Motion:
Year 12 Physics at Adelaide University
This week the Year 12 Physics students had the opportunity to explore the concept of force and momentum at Adelaide University. Endeavour College are fortunate to enjoy a close relationship with the University, allowing Year 12 students visit the Mawson Lakes campus several times a year to access specialist equipment.
On this occasion, the Physics students explored the concept of the conservation of momentum using air tables, hockey pucks and data logging software. With the support of Adelaide University staff, the students were able to analyse the motion of the pucks in two dimensions, and ultimately, determine if momentum was conserved during a collision.
This hands-on experience not only reinforced the Year 12s current learning but also sparked new questions and avenues for exploration, as they offered explanations for their results and considered potential sources of error.
The visit was a great success, and the students look forward to returning to the University labs in Term 2.

Learning Beyond the Classroom:
Year 12 Business Visit Watershed Café
Our Year 12 Business students recently enjoyed an insightful excursion to Watershed Cafe and Function Centre as part of their exploration of business management. During the visit, students toured the venue and explored how a café and function centre operates, while also gathering information to analyse and provide recommendations to the business.
Students had the valuable opportunity to meet with business owner Maurice and Events Coordinator Dianne, who generously shared their knowledge and experience after 16 years of operating the business. Maurice spoke about the challenges and rewards of running a hospitality business, including managing staff, maintaining quality service, responding to competition, and adapting to changing customer needs.
Students asked thoughtful questions about operations, customer profiling, marketing strategies, revenue streams as well as the impact of seasonality on business revenue. They were particularly interested in the role of technology and social media in developing and maintaining a presence in today's digital climate.
This excursion provided an authentic learning experience, giving students practical insight into entrepreneurship and operations management. Students will then use this opportunity to create a marketing plan for this business, which will be communicated to the business at a later date. We thank Maurice and Dianne for their time and generosity in supporting our students’ learning.
